The work

One moment. No second take.

I spent fifteen years training for a single dive — ten meters up, one attempt, an Olympic final. That's how I photograph a wedding: completely present, ready before the moment happens, invisible while it does.

An athlete's nerve

A first look, a father's face, a ring at the bottom of a garden in Paris — the images that matter happen once. Holding steady in that instant is what I trained my whole life for.

Nothing for you to worry about

Timeline, locations, light, backup plans — all decided together before you land in France. On the day, you won't brief me, manage me, or pose for hours. You live your wedding; I take care of the rest.

Images made to last

My work hangs in art fairs and appears on the stages of Paris. I bring the same standard to your wedding: photographs you'll frame, not just post.

Olympic divers Greg and Mayce during their surprise proposal at Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris 2024

A story I could only tell

An Olympic proposal, Paris 2024

During the Paris Olympic Games, two Olympic divers — Greg and Mayce — asked me to secretly photograph the moment he proposed, in the Jardin du Luxembourg.

They asked me because I was one of them. I dove in an Olympic final myself, in Rio. I know what it takes to hold your nerve when a single moment decides everything — and that's exactly what it takes to catch one.

It happened right after Mayce's 10m event. Greg brought her and their families to the Jardin du Luxembourg; I hid among the visitors and caught this Olympic family moment as it unfolded. That's exactly what I do with my couples — we create stories that last a lifetime.

Benjamin Auffret, destination wedding photographer based on the French Riviera

About

From the Olympic final to your wedding day

I'm Benjamin. Before I was a photographer, I was an Olympic diver — a finalist in Rio 2016 and a European champion. Ten meters up, one attempt, no second take. That's where I learned to be completely present for a moment that won't happen twice.

Now I bring that same presence to weddings. I live in Cannes, on the French Riviera, and I photograph a small number of couples each year across Provence, the Côte d'Azur, Paris — and wherever love takes them.

As part of your closest circle on your wedding day, I capture the authentic moments that make your story unique. Everywhere I look, I see a beautiful story waiting to unfold. You live your day at 200% — I make sure it lasts your whole life.

Kind words

What couples say

"Benjamin was the photographer we chose to capture one of the most beautiful days of our lives: our wedding.
The experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Benjamin was rigorous and professional at every step of the process. He took the time to listen closely to our requests beforehand and perfectly captured the style we wanted for our photos.
His dedication on the big day was especially appreciated; he managed to blend seamlessly into the crowd among the guests without ever missing a single important moment. The final photos went well beyond our expectations.
Kudos and a huge thank you to Benjamin, whom we absolutely recommend 1000%!"

Good to know

Questions couples ask me

Should we fly in a photographer from home instead?

Some couples do. It adds $1,000–$5,000 in travel fees for someone who will see your venue for the first time on your wedding morning. I live here. I know the estates, the light and the planners — and my travel anywhere in France is already included. Choose whoever's work moves you most; just compare the full picture.

Do you speak English?

Fluently. Every call, email, timeline and contract is in English. As a former international athlete, I've spent years working and competing in English-speaking environments.

We haven't chosen our venue yet. Can you help?

Yes. I know the estates, châteaux and hotels of Provence, the Riviera and Paris first-hand — including how they photograph at different times of day. Tell me your vision and I'll share honest recommendations.

How far in advance should we book?

For May–September dates in Provence and on the Riviera, 12–18 months ahead is safe. I photograph only 12 weddings a year, so popular Saturdays go first. Off-season and weekday dates have more flexibility.

How does payment work from the US?

A retainer secures your date, with the balance due before the wedding. I invoice in a way that's simple for international transfers, and everything is set out in a clear written contract in English.

When do we get our photos?

A sneak peek within 72 hours — so you can share images while you're still in France — and the complete edited gallery within a few weeks, delivered in a private online gallery with full download and print rights.

Do you travel outside France?

Yes — Italy, Spain, Greece, the UK and beyond. For weddings outside France, a single transparent travel fee is added to your collection. One line, no surprises.
